Climate change in Queensland

Climate change affects us all and has implications for every country on the planet.

In Queensland, climate change has impacts for every community, household, business and farm. Equally, Queensland's unique environment, including icons like the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics, are at risk with a potential decline in tourism benefits and biodiversity.

Every Queenslander has a role to play in minimising climate change impacts and adapting for the future.

Governments, industries, communities and organisations across Queensland need to work in partnership to better understand the impacts of increasing greenhouse gas concentrations and the implications for climate change.

Better understanding of climate change will continue to assist the world to develop measures to help deal with our changing climate.

One way the Queensland Government has specifically responded to this challenge is through the creation of the Office of Climate Change.

The Queensland Government is reviewing ClimateSmart 2050. Terms of Reference are now available.
