Transport
Moving towards a low carbon future
Moving people, goods and services to where they need to be underpins Queenslands economic and social wealth.
The transport sector is Queenslands fourth largest source of greenhouse gas emissions generating just over 10 per cent of state-wide emissions in 2007.
The key challenges for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transport are Queenslands large geographical size and dispersed population, continued high population growth and large resource industry, which are expected to continue to increase the states transport related emissions.
